Stuttering

There’s been a lot of stigma attached to stuttering, for centuries. But until very recently, scientists weren’t sure what caused it, or if it was possible that nervousness — as originally thought — might actually be responsible. Thanks to the incredible MRI machine, scientists are starting to put some answers together. Here’s my latest for Science News for Students about what we now know about stuttering. 860_main_mouth.png
