A few weeks ago, I had the honor of judging 8th-grade and high-school student work in Journalism, Essays, & Portfolios for Scholastic’s Art & Writing Awards. It’s always amazing to me when I find young people who spend their free time dedicated to the thing I love most in this world. And incredibly heartening when I find them producing really high-quality work. There were some truly talented kids in my batch. I wish them all much success and fortitude!
