Now My #1 Most Need-To-Read Book This Summer!

Thanks, Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, Fl! By pulling this book from your students’  summer reading list, you’ve just helped me decide what I should read next (in fact, I’ve already placed a hold at my local library):

Book banning seems so…19th century, doesn’t it? As it happens, attempts at banning books are happening left and right in our fair country, all the time—The American Library Association keeps a running list on their site; they report 307 challenges in 2013 alone, as documented by the Office for Intellectual Freedom. One of my all-time faves? A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. What’s your favorite banned book? Write in and let us know!
