We celebrate Christmas big at our house, and like everything that’s important to us as a family, this celebration tends to revolve around stories. Ada has a pile of Christmas books she hauls out every year at this time, and which we read aloud, one at a time as the days tick down, culminating on Christmas Eve with her favorite of all:
Last year, though, we started a new tradition, of listening. In particular, listening to Dylan Thomas’s A Child’s Christmas in Wales, read by him—a little too fast, as all the old authors seemed to do—in his crisp and formal tenor. You can listen, too, by following this link.
Do you and your family have any special Christmas traditions? Please write in and share! And happy holidays, everyone!
