In March, my book THE HONEYBEE MAN was chosen by Cornell University to be read to 1st and 2nd grade public school students around NYC as part of Agricultural Literacy Week. I was lucky enough to have the chance to get out there and read it myself, to eight classrooms at PS 29 in Brooklyn, and PS 3 and PS 41 in Manhattan. Here I am talking bees with some very savvy 2nd graders at PS 3, who told me they thought the honey sticks that had been sent in for them to sample tasted like bacon, cough syrup and cupcake frosting!
Later this month I’ll be reading the book at the United Nations International School in celebration of Earth Day (April 22). I look forward to seeing you all out there!
